Cottonwood man who died ID’d following incident in downtown Redding lodge

A Shasta County Sheriff's Office Crime Scene Investigation van sits at the Americana Modern Motel on Tuesday, June 9, 2020.

A male is dead immediately after police responded to a dispute at the Americana Modern-day Lodge in downtown Redding early Tuesday morning.

Coroner’s officers identified him that afternoon as Morgan James Davis, 37, of Cottonwood. His autopsy is pending.

Officers at the scene said police had been known as to the resort on Market place Avenue all-around 1 a.m.

A Shasta County Sheriff’s Business Criminal offense Scene Investigation van and investigators remained on scene close to 9 a.m. Tuesday gathering evidence from a next-tale home across from the hotel’s business.

In a put up on its Facebook website page, the Redding Law enforcement Division mentioned when officers arrived at the hotel, they encountered a male, afterwards identified as Davis, who was bleeding from his arm standing outside a 2nd-flooring area.

Officers had been ready to get Davis to come down the stairs to the parking great deal.
